We are looking for an experienced, hands-on First Officer to join a busy 50m charter motor yacht with an exciting cruising programme through Central America and Alaska. This is not a predominantly bridge-based position, with an honest split of approximately 70% deck / 30% bridge. The successful candidate must genuinely enjoy being on deck, leading from the front and getting stuck in alongside the team.
Working closely with the Captain, you will be heavily relied upon for navigational watches, bridge procedures and record keeping, while also taking ownership of the day-to-day deck operation. Responsibilities will include managing the deck team, exterior maintenance, tender operations, watersports and guest activities. The Captain has strong safety and organisational systems already in place and is looking for someone motivated to take ownership, improve existing systems and put their own stamp on the programme.
Attitude and crew fitness are extremely important. We are looking for someone professional, positive and proactive who takes their responsibilities seriously while contributing to the yacht’s close-knit, family-style crew culture. A genuine waterman with excellent tender, watersports and strong fishing experience would be particularly well suited to the programme. The Captain is also happy to mentor the right candidate and provide drive time to someone who demonstrates ability, commitment and potential.
